Whatsapp and its Newly Added Live Location Sharing Feature

Who says we aren’t capable of becoming better at what we do? Well, personally I believe no one craves for a deteriorating reputation. And I think the WhatsApp team thinks so too after coming up with new feature on WhatsApp called the Live location sharing. Mind-blowing right? With this, it’s now easier to find your friends in real life with the aid of the Facebook-owned messaging app. You can now be able to share your current location with your close ones so as to allow them to know your present whereabouts.

This new feature is rolling out for WhatsApp on iOS and Android over the next few weeks. But below is a spoiler alert to keep you prepared for it in a welcoming mood (in this case, with your welcoming thumbs).

To be able to use it (I saw it working on a friend’s phone… I’ve been jealous since then and was wishing it was my phone), you’d open a conversation with a friend or group and tap on the small button in the bottom left corner. Select Location and then tap on Share Live Location. One of the best parts is that you can also decide how long you want share your location (15 minutes, 1 hour or 8 hours) and add a comment if you want before confirming.

It’s also similar to the manner in which the widely recognized Snapchat shares your location and protects it by end-to-end encryption.
